Fangirling

SO! The Ladies of the Manor Series take readers back in time to Edwardian England, when automobiles and electric lights were all the rage, but the old way of life still ruling the land. Lords and ladies, maids and valets…and in this case, a dose of danger and mystery to take them all on their journey to love.

“With the momentum and drama of a modern thriller and the charm and intrigue of an Edwardian upper-class romance, White balances hearty helpings of names, ranks, and family history with highly entertaining situations and plenty of humor.” ~Booklist on The Reluctant DuchessBlurb for A Lady Unrivaled

“White Is Quickly Becoming the Top Name in Edwardian Romance! Lady Ella Myerston can always find a reason to smile–even if it’s just in hope that tomorrow will be better than today. All her life everyone has tried to protect her from the realities of the world, but Ella knows very well the danger that has haunted her brother and their friend, and she won’t wait for it to strike again. She intends to take action . . . and if that happens to involve an adventurous trip to the Cotswolds, then so much the better. Lord Cayton has already broken two hearts, including that of his first wife, who died before he could convince himself to love her. Now he’s determined to live a better life. But that proves complicated when old friends arrive on the scene and try to threaten him into a life of crime. He does his best to remove the intriguing Lady Ella from danger, but the stubborn girl won’t budge. How else can he redeem himself, though, but by saving her–and his daughter–from those dangerous people who seem ready to destroy them all?” ~Amazon Review/Blurb

ADRIANA GABRIELLE’S REVIEW

What a wonderfully chilling sequel to Forest of Whispers!!

This book gave me a crazy case of paranoia related feels and many chills. There were many times I would actually glance over my shoulder just because the chills I got from this book are simply unreal. If you want a good Halloween read with witches and ghosts, this is your book.
I’m still just as in love with the characters as I was in book one. One element I loved in this story wasn’t the creepiness of the story but the stronger element of mystery. I liked how even though not always in the spotlight that sense of mystery remained in the novel and I feel it just added to the creepiness and suspense of the whole witches, plagues, ghosts and other horrors much more than with Forest of Whispers. I applaud Jennifer Murgia for another chilling, brilliantly written sequel.

Fifteen-year-old Allie Grant lives crippled by her illness. Though kept in isolation, she’s never alone: A spirit named Song lurks in the silence of her bedroom.

When Song reveals its dark nature on the night of her recital, the show ends in tragedy. Verging on death, Allie’s taken in by an uncle she’s never met.

Julian claims to be a Muse with power over music and answers that’ll heal her. The cure she needs is rare, requiring of him a difficult sacrifice. Allie soon suspects her uncle has a secret that’ll turn her world around.

But with days left to live, she might fade without learning the truth…like the finishing chord of a song.

Also, A quick mini review going on here for this novella starting……. NOW!

Mini Review of Healer’s Curse

I LOVED Healers Curse. It was a fantastic look into what was happening back as the Prince and Princesses Kingdom while they were journeying home. (During the events of Mardan’s Mark) Having this short story was a fun little filler (as in while waiting for the second book) and was beautifully crafted! I loved seeing this story play out and there were many times where I was sitting there just rooting for poor Elilan and cheering her on. It was such a sweet short story with amazingly crafted characters and a plot.

If you loved Mardan’s Mark then you will LOVE Healer’s Curse.

About the book:
The Caribbean is no place for a society lady of London, yet after a daring quest to save a friend, Lady Ivy Shaw finds herself trapped far from home. Now, driven with worry for her young brother, she is determined to return to England in all haste. So, when a new acquaintance offers to sail her to her brother’s side, she jumps at the offer, scarcely caring that the man is a privateer.
Captain Gage Thompson is just learning how to be a captain. He sailed for years under the command of his longtime friend, Caspian Archer, but serving a captain and being a captain are, as he soon discovers, two very different roles. While struggling to gain the respect of his newfound crew, he now faces the distraction of beautiful Lady Shaw. He finds himself entranced by her and promises to give her passage home.
After a brief stop in Port Royal, Ivy and Gage discover an abandoned child. They both decide to bring her with them on their voyage to England. But problems soon arise in the form of hurricanes and enemy pirates, and Ivy and Gage find themselves scrambling to not only care for a lonely child, but also gain command of a motley crew.
